On August 23-24, many dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, and other volunteers will gather at the Pershing Center in Lincoln to provide a great service to those in need. The Mission of Mercy has been helping others the since the summer of 2000. The goal of the Mission of Mercy (MOM) is to provide free dental care as well as oral hygiene and health education to adults and children who are uninsured, underinsured, or those who don’t have access to a dentist for other reasons.
This will be the 8th annual MOM held in Nebraska. There will be over 150 dentists providing free dental care to an estimated 1,200 to 1,400 patients on a first-come first-served basis. That will amount to about $750,000 of dental care provided by donations from the community and donation of time by the dental personnel. Our dental team would like to say a big thanks to all those who will be volunteering their time and services at this year’s Mission of Mercy.
